A Fairytale Love Story
Did you know that there is a famous Cypriot legend regarding the greek goddess of love Aphrodite? Allegedly, the legend states that she was born in the waters known as ‘Petro Tou Romiou’. Subsequently, Digenis Akritas- a great warrior, athlete and lover was said to have thrown a large rock to protect his lady love against Saracen ships, birthing the legend of ‘Aphrodite’s rock’!
How fitting is it that our bride is a match maker? She is fondly referred to as the goddess of love by her friends and family! Clearly, all the stars aligned in this couple’s favour as the bride mentions that something drew her to the Amara hotel and her now husband. Their story proves that Love can be found in the most unlikely places for lovers of all ages and walks of life.
What Drew the Couple to The AMARA Hotel
A quick internet search is enough to convince anyone why they would want an Amara wedding. It effortlessly blends the luxurious with the carefree and it is so easy to switch off your phone and get lost in all that the hotel has to offer.
More so, it is no surprise that the couple did not need any further information after a novelty scroll through their website. They were fully convinced that they had found the perfect location to celebrate their union.
The Wedding Planning Journey
Undoubtedly, we get a good number of our clients from referrals and this case is no different. Coincidentally, Mandy is the cousin of one of our previous grooms who had their wedding at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Central London. Unbeknownst to us, she was a guest and remembered the Flair at that wedding (pun very much intended!).
From the very first meeting we had with Mandy, it was clear that she is a force to be reckoned with. She had a very clear vision of what she wanted for her big day. With only 5 months to fully plan a destination wedding, it is clear we had our work cut out for us. It took our whole team to carefully comb through every detail multiple times to ensure we left no stone unturned. We spent countless hours on this wedding and faced various hurdles but that’s a story for my personal memoirs (Haha!). In the end, we couldn’t be happier with the result.
The Inspiration
Undoubtedly, a delicate colour scheme is the go-to for weddings(and for good reason). However, this is the 21st century! Gone are the days of all-white being the standard wedding colour. We are huge fans of mixing the classic with the contemporary. Therefore, we worked with amazing decorators Splendid Events to curate the perfect decor and production to reflect the soft yet sophisticated personality of our couple.
Therefore, the aim was to put a modern spin on the typically rustic perennial outdoor aesthetic of pampas grass. We went for soft earthy tones with hints of blush as well as various textured foliage to bring the fresh and airy feel of the Cypriot outdoors into an indoor space and with a subtle addition of textured charger plates and glassware, this decor was a Limassol dream!
The Perfect End to A Great Time
No destination wedding is complete without an all-white soiree. It could be on a yacht, in a restaurant or even on the beach!
It would be a grave injustice to not take advantage of the the sunny skies and clear Mediterranean seas. What better way to end a beautiful Wedding weekend than with an all-white photoshoot with your nearest and dearest. Mandy and Okezie, ever the party starters, had a post-wedding event which was followed by a private dinner at the exclusive Nammos restaurant to conclude the three-day celebration.

Every Bride dreams of the perfect wedding day where you can forget about all their worries and focus solely on having the best experience! Whether that is partying like its 1999 or living your princess fantasy complete with 4 outfit changes.
